Why Future in Focus Exists: Wealth Is Built, Not Wished

The idea for Future in Focus wasn’t born in a boardroom or during a marketing brainstorm. It started with a conversation—with my cousin, actually. We were talking about estate planning when he said, casually but confidently, “That’s only something rich people need.” He meant it. And he’s not alone.
That moment stuck with me. Not because it was new, but because I’d heard it so many times before—from friends, clients, even fellow professionals. Smart, ambitious people, building real wealth—but no one ever told them that protecting it was part of the process.
Future in Focus: A Podcast on Wealth and Legacy Planning exists because too many of us are building with hustle, but without a plan. We’re making money, but not safeguarding it. Acquiring assets, but not aligning them. And somewhere along the way, we were convinced that wealth planning was a luxury—when in reality, it’s a necessity.
This podcast is an extension of the work we do at the firm every day: helping our clients build legacies that last. But it’s also personal. I was raised by a single mother with limited means. I know what it feels like to confuse security with scarcity. And I also know what it’s like to sit across the table from billion-dollar decision makers—and understand that true wealth is never just about income. It’s about structure.
In Episode 1, “Mindset First – The Wealth Shift,” I share how I transitioned from a survival mindset to one grounded in strategy. That shift changed my life, my practice, and how I support clients on their journey.
In Episode 2, I’m joined by Shianna Patron, a real estate investor and developer who has built long-term wealth through property. We discuss strategies like rentals, flips, and joint ventures—but more importantly, we talk about how to start when you’re the first in your family to do it.
Future in Focus is for the dreamers and the doers. The first-generation wealth builders. The business owners, professionals, and real estate investors who are figuring it out in real-time. It’s for anyone ready to turn income into impact.
Because wealth isn’t a wish—it’s a plan. It doesn’t appear because we want it; it shows up when we structure for it, protect it, and stay focused on the long term.
That’s what this podcast is about: shifting how we think so we can transform what we build.
🎧 Episodes 1 and 2 are now streaming on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
